Support for Self-managed & Plan-Managed NDIS funded participants

As a certified EAL practitioner, I offer innovative and effective learning for NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan managed, designed to promote social, emotional and mental wellness. At its core, Equine Assisted Learning involves a range of activities with horses that promote self-awareness and emotional regulation.

Throughout our sessions, we might engage in activities like observing, meeting, leading, feeding, or grooming the horse, all while being safely supported by myself.

Research has highlighted that horses can be especially effective at promoting well-being in people with disabilities. This is because horses respond to social situations similarly to humans, meaning they can help to regulate our nervous system and emotions. Over time, participants learn how to approach the horse calmly and in a relaxed manner, allowing them to connect with the horse and the activity.

Incorporating Equine Assisted Learning into an NDIS plan can be incredibly beneficial. It has been shown to help boost self-esteem, self-confidence and self-awareness, while also improving mobility, coordination, and sensory integration. Furthermore, it provides participants with an opportunity to explore non-verbal communication and develop relationships with living beings, all without having to directly discuss or relive trauma.

I am incredibly passionate about the benefits of Equine Assisted Learning, and I would be honoured to support you or someone you care for on their journey to wellness. I place a strong emphasis on establishing a collaborative and supportive relationship with my participants to ensure that we work together to achieve their goals. Whether it's building life skills, strengthening relationships, or improving emotional or mental health, my services can cater to the specific needs of each participant. Whether you're a client or a support worker, if you're interested in learning more about how Equine Assisted Learning can help achieve your or your client's NDIS Plan goals, don't hesitate to contact me. I'd be more than happy to discuss my programs and schedule an introductory session where you can get to know me and my wonderful horses better.

Further Information

Discover a unique and effective way to promote social, emotional, and mental wellness through Equine Assisted Learning, designed specifically for individuals who have a love for nature and animals and seek a fresh and alternative approach to traditional methods.

The introductory session serves as an excellent starting point for individuals interested in Equine Assisted Learning. During this session, clients will have the wonderful opportunity to meet the horses and engage in discussions about their personal goals.

For those clients who thoroughly enjoy the introductory session and are eager to continue with the Equine Assisted Learning program, we will collaboratively create a personalized plan tailored to their individual needs and aspirations. This plan will include determining the frequency of sessions, which can be scheduled on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. Together, we can explore both individual programs and the 8-series Horse Wisdom program to determine the most suitable fit.

Throughout our sessions, if additional support is required, I maintain a close working relationship with a mental health social worker (EAP/EAT) to whom I can readily refer clients for further assistance.

In terms of funding, my service utilises several NDIS codes from core and capacity building. These codes provide potential funding solutions for participants who are either self-managed or plan-managed.

Please reach out if you have any questions or you can schedule an introductory session now via the session options booking link below.
